Cure Gout Naturally
72Cure Gout Naturally
As someone who has experienced gout pain first hand, I can tell you from experience that it is absolutely a terrible experience from start to finish. And Gout almost always comes at the worst time....usually when you are asleep. This hub is about my personal journey to curing gout through natural means.
Now, I say cure gout but in reality there really is no cure. The best that we can do is hope that we can stop gout attacks from happening. If you ask any doctor, they will advise you that you should look to what you ate before you had a gout attack. These are known as triggers and vary from person to person. One person will find that their gout will be triggers by alcohol while another will eat a steak and the next morning wake up with gouty toe.
Beyond identifying the triggers that cause gout, there really is nothing more that a doctor can suggest and they spend more time trying to treat the pain that comes from gout than anything else.
There are natural ways to cure gout though. And while certain foods can trigger gout understand that this is primarily a 20th century disease. It wasn't common 100 years ago. Therefore, I have to believe that there is more to preventing gout than simply watching the food we eat.
Here are some things that I have discovered that will help with preventing gout.....
- Exercise daily- I think that alot of health problems start with lack of exercise. And the reason why I think that exercise is especially good for those that suffer with gout is that it gets the blood really moving through the body. Since gout is caused by excessive uric acid in the bloodstream, a heart pounding walk should help to flush the acid out of the body.
- Drink Lots of Water- Another thing that works because it helps flush the toxins from the body is water. Drinking water is a good thing. It will not only help with flushing toxins but will also help you lose weight or in the very least keep your weight under control.
- Maintain a healthy weight- Most of the people who suffer from gout also suffer from diabetes and other weight related diseases. These are diseases that are considered modern because they didn't appear really until the middle of the 20th century. By maintaining a proper weight, you are not putting an excessive load on your body and it allows your body to operate properly.
- Eat a "clean" diet- Another thing that will help to prevent gout attacks is to eat a clean diet. What do I mean by clean? I personally think that organic meats (grass fed..no antibiotics..no steroids) and lots of fruits and vegetables high in anti-oxidants will go a long way to helping the body cope with the load of processing food. Remember...most of what we eat these days is loaded with toxins like pesticides and antibiotics. Our body has to process this. By alleviating the load and limiting the detoxification process, we are allowing our body to stay ahead and actually process more uric acid from the body.
So what if you can't do this? Or what if you don't want to do this? What are the other options for preventing gout.....
You could also take supplements and vitamins that do virtually the same things as foods.
- Cherries, cherry juice, blueberries...in fact, any berry will help you prevent gout. There are studies that have shown how great cherries are in preventing gout.
- Peppers are great to eat for gout as well because they have very powerful anti-inflammatory properties associated with them.
- Garlic and other sulfur producing foods are great as well- I consider garlic to be a super food because it does the body good in so many different arenas. It is especially good at reducing acid levels in the bloodstream.
That's it. While there isn't a cure for gout arthritis, there are definitely ways to prevent gout attacks. The best methods stem from a good diet, lots of water and exercise though. I guess you could say that would prevent a lot of health problems though, right? You can check out my other hub on gout as well for more information. It is called Gout Home Remedies.
